Dr. Veronica Lane is the Chief Data Officer (CDO) serving the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs.. As CDO, Dr. Lane works on developing and implementing data policy, overseeing data governance, and developing data management practices and coordinating data strategy across Indian Affairs. Prior to serving as CDO, Dr. Lane worked for almost 6 six years at the Bureau of Indian Education as a education research analyst and policy analyst. Dr. Lane has expertise in statistical data analysis, research design, data management, educational research, and program evaluation.
Dr. Lane is a proud member of the Navajo Nation and grew up in northern Arizona on the reservation. Dr. Lane earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University and both a Master of Arts degree and Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Psychology from the University of New Mexico. Dr. Lane lives and works out of Albuquerque with her husband and enjoys mountain biking, camping, traveling, playing basketball, and spending time with her family outside of work.
